Abstract
This article examines the legacy of authoritarianism and violent conflict on Croatia's party system with a particular focus on parties of the centre and far right. Through an exploration of the Croatian Democratic Union, the Croatian Party of Rights and the Croatian Bloc, it is observed that the post-Tudjman evolution of nationalist political parties has seen the Croatian Democratic Union coalesce around Ivo Sanader, while parties of the far right have attempted to embrace the legacy of Franjo Tudjman.
