We are all vulnerable to emotional and mental distress, with at least 1 in 4 of us experiencing such distress at some time in our lives (www.nhs.org.uk). As an educator it is clearly evident that our student population is one of the key groups within society where the promotion of emotional wellbeing and understanding of mental health issues is critical. The site is the culmination of extensive research into the perceptions of mental health of 18-30 year olds and aims to promote mental wellbeing as well as addressing the needs of those who live with a mental illness. As well as giving first-hand accounts of sufferers, the website contains creative activities, which promote emotional wellbeing and provides links to support and further information within the University of Ulster and various agencies outside.
