This chapter focuses on the festival shopping mall, in this case the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in Dublin, offering a discursive, romantic, 'stream-of-scholarly-consciousness' approach by the two authors who explore the festival mall experience provided by this celebrated Dublin shopping centre. The authors also draw on key theoretical constructs of Mikhail Bakhtin, such as his concept of the carnivalesque, to help them evoke the inherent magic of the festival mall.
