Abstract
Our understanding of sheet metal forming processes and materials is well matured, yet the level of industrial implementation lags behind current capabilities. There is a need for academics to develop pragmatic solutions that are accessible to industrial partners while embedding the process knowledge in new adaptive machine control systems.
