A preliminary investigation was made of a measure to evaluate the effects of career interviews on young people. Using the Session Evaluation Questionnaire as a model, a set of bipolar adjective scares presented in semantic differential format were tested on 58 15- and 16-yr.-olds who were low achieving students in their final year of statutory education. Results supported earlier findings where two postinterview evaluation factors, termed depth and smoothness, and two postinterview affective state factors, termed positivity and arousal, were identified. In general, the reliabilities of some measures are adequate although further development is required.
