Abstract
Spain's Costa del Sol houses a fusion of north European immigrants and local Spanish residents who have helped create business services which cater exclusively for the modern package holiday maker. This article focuses on levels of development amongst British expatriate service providers (ESPs) in Torremolinos, La Carihuela, Benalmadena Costa and Fuengirola. Investigation shows different features affecting business provision to a point where owners now perceive themselves to be performing satisfactorily. It is argued that these resorts are in transition and with continued improvements in offering customers a better product then an overall survival of expatriate service provision is likely.
