Source of dataThis report is based on data collected through interviews and self-completionquestionnaires. This is backed up with information from focus groups and a conferenceworkshop. Further details are available in the methodology section in Chapter one.Structure and layout of the reportChapter one provides background information as well as the rationale, aims andobjectives of the project. This chapter also focuses on the key principles thatgoverned the methods used, with particular emphasis on those that were morepertinent to people with learning disabilities. Chapter two presents the fi ndingsfrom people with learning disabilities. Chapter three and four relates to fi ndingsfrom signifi cant others in the lives of people with learning disabilities, that is, familycarers and front-line staff. Chapter fi ve focuses on relationships and sexualityeducation (RSE) for people with learning disabilities and includes the views ofprofessionals and signifi cant others. The fi nal chapter presents some conclusionsand recommendations.Summaries are provided at the end of each chapter.
