Abstract
This paper provides a brief overview of the Conger-Lipshitz approach to estimating the reliability of a profile or test battery. In the special case where the profile components are uncorrelated their `canonical reliability' index reduces to Yarnold's index of reliability. A computational example shows how canonical reliability can be readily obtained using existing statistical software packages. A significance test is proposed.
