Abstract
collaborative project CROW (City Right of Way) with Mike Hogg facilitated by PLACE and Flaxart Studios. The project, a monthly walk in Belfast, aims to highlight issues around access and right of way.The idea of opening up access was suggested by the Rome based urban research group Stalker after their observations on a pilot walk as part of a research trip to Belfast facilitated by myself and Hogg. Stalker noticed how much of the city was impassable especially locations around so called peace lines and housing built in ‘close’ formations. The first of the CROW walks explored the alleyways of the Ormeau Rd. See http://onedgebelfast.blogspot.com and http://crowwalks.blogspot.com/ It is envisaged that these walks will build an awareness of Right of Way issues in relation to Belfast and its ‘unoccupied spaces’ All walks archived on http://www.crowwalks.blogspot.com/
