Abstract

Oidhreacht Feirste’, a major exhibition of text and images on the history of the Irish language in Belfast from earliest times to the present day, commissioned by Foras na Gaeilge. The exhibition was launched on 13th October 2006 at a gala dinner hosted by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast, Ruth Patterson, in Belfast City Hall as part of centenary celebrations. Oidhreacht Feirste has more recently been exhibited in the U.S.A by the West Belfast Economic Forum and throughout Ireland by Foras na Gaeilge and other groups.
