Abstract
Crevice is the outcome of an applied research exploration into the interaction of the natural environment integrated with the traditional techniques of silversmithing to create a functional yet sculptural artefact for the contemporary table. The research began with searching for weathered stones which would be suitable for the table and which would create a natural landscape from which I could test and explore the interaction and manipulation of sterling silver. Commencing with flat silver sheet traditional silversmithing techniques were applied to create a sculptural piece incorporating 8 candle holders held in the stone for the table.Permanent Collection of the Ulster Museum, Belfast
