Abstract
This paper provides a brief overview of three main types of ini-tiative that have emerged in education in response to the con-flict in Northern Ireland over the past 30 years. It then identifies a range of issues related to diversity that currently exist within Northern Ireland and finally, puts forward some views on the challenges that education faces within the context of the current peace process.
